i am a chirstian, who believes that many of the practices and ritual of the Catholic Church is unbiblical. With this in mind, what exactly is thought or advised at Pre martial roman catholic course. I want to know so, as to find out if anything thought or advised is against my belief as per the Bible. My fiance's parents wants us to get married in a catholic church.
Thanks Nolan

There are a couple of things you should think about ...First, your beliefs "as per the Bible" conflict with the beliefs of other Protestant denominations, so why would you think your beliefs are correct, and the hundreds of other Protestant beliefs which conflict with yours are all wrong? Each of them thinks their beliefs are "as per the Bible". What gives your beliefs any more authority than all the others? If all these denominational beliefs conflict with one another, then obviously they must also conflict with the Bible, for the Bible does not conflict with itself.
Secondly, if you knew anything about the origins of the Bible, you would realize that the Bible cannot possibly conflict with Catholic beliefs, since the Bible was compiled by the bishops of the Catholic Church, meeting in Council at the end of the 4th century. The only way the Bible could contain anything contradictory to Catholic teaching is if the Catholic Church, in compiling the Bible, intentionally included writings which conflict with its own teachings. Now really, how likely is that?
What the teachings of the Catholic Church do conflict with is your personal interpretations of the Bible. But that merely demonstrates your inability to interpret the Bible. It doesn't cast any doubt on the teaching of God's Church. How could it? God told the leaders of His Holy Catholic Church "the Holy Spirit will guide you to all truth", and "whatsoever you bind upon earth is bound in heaven". God keeps His promises. What you will not find in scripture is any authorization for men to abandon the Church Jesus Christ founded for all men, and set up churches of their own with hundreds of conflicting, contradicting manmade theologies. Maybe you should take an honest look at the Church your fiancee was raised in, instead of believing rumors you have heard. Maybe she should too. To abandon the one true Church founded by Christ on the Apostles for simplistic manmade religion is never the will of God.

why should paul m answer the question. nolan isnt catholic. his wife isnt comitted to the catholic church (hence, isnt catholic) either. it would be futile for them to go through the motions of catholic pre-maraige counseling for a faith that they have both abandoned.get married in your own church, nolan, regardless of you fiance's parents' wishes. a marraige in the catholic church would have to involve a lie on the part of your fiancee, which would forever taint your marraige with the fact that it is based on false promises.

he should have answered his post. isn't this forum to educate catholics? maybe they would have returned to the Catholic faith if it weren't for you paul h?

jr, you are right, this forum IS to educate catholics. It is NOT to teach anti catholics and their fallen catholic fiances how to cheat the system to get married in a catholic church. the short answer is that they both can't and SHOULDNT.nolan didnt come here to learn, he came here to try and teach us his views in a way which is not allowed by our rules here at this forum.

AHMEN!!!!!!!!! Yeah what's the point of getting married in a church. Sounds like Nolan is looking more at the form than the substance here. The means rather than the end.err...you get my drift rite? (I hope)
