hello. I want to build my computer base mostly for editing. this is my first time to build one, so i have no idea where to start. i like to know what kind of motherboard cpu memory hard drive video card sound card would suit editing? (or anything else i need to buy) bare in mind I'm just a beginner. your help would be appreciated.

Answers

Get a mac, powermac G5, either 1.8, 2.0 or 2.5 ghz dual processor. Get final cut pro HD. If your really serious, get Avid DV or better and get the avid MOJO add on for real time rendering, but FCP should do you fine.

Get a GIG of memory at minimum and depending on how much you can afford an ATI Radeon 9600 or better card. I use a 9000 radeon in my mac, and it's fine but a little outdated.
