My Fowlkes research takes me to Stanly Co.to John H. Fooks. Wife is Hanah Fooks. My great grandfather was his son, WILLIAM STEPHEN FOWLKES, 1830. IF anyone has any information about this family , please email me. I would be so grateful.

I'm assuming that you found this family in 1850 census where name was spelled FOOKS. In 1860 it is spelled FOULKS.
