Alex, I don't think it would be a sin, as long as it doesn't lead to anything sinful. Although, it usually is better to avoid such things that lead to sin, as said in the Lord's prayer, "..and lead us not, into temptation..". But as long as everyone's hormones are in check and you don't mind other guys seeing your girlfriend in what she's wearing, I don't see a problem.

Peace, Cameron

Dressing immodestly in public is sinful. It may or may not be an occasion of sin for the one who dresses that way but it is always a near occasion of sin for others. And intentionally placing others in a near occasion of sin is always sinful.

No problem.

Alex, I suggest you listen to Paul. He is much more knowledgeable than I am. I am just a newling to the forum. I'm afraid I represented more of my personal view in my message, because I didn't fully know the Church's stance. I apologize. But Paul is definitely a trustworthy person on this forum.

Sounds to me like Alex is giving you guys the business.

-- Reaster L. (reaster@bokil.com), November 14, 2004.

The business? I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by that.

Peace, brothers

Cameron I do not want to be disrespectful, but if you do not recognize a wise guy horsing around I cannot help that.

-- Reaster L. (reaster@bokil.com), November 14, 2004.

Well, I figured he was putting me on when he typed: "YOOOOOOW WHZUP FOLKS?" but it doesn't hurt to try to help, does it?

Yeah, cmon guys, it was so obvious and painful how this guy was being a smart *ss.

A few months ago somebody was posting about some medical disorder where women must masturbate themselves in order to relieve pain in their vagina. Thanks to the moderator it was caught and deleted immediately.

Remember, docile as a lamb but shrewd as a snake. Let's not allow our fallen bothers and sisters to get the best of us.

Reaster and Brian, I don’t know what your problem is. As far as I can see, Alex did no harm. Sure his spelling and grammar are faulty, but he asked a perfectly legitimate question about whether something is a sin, thanked Cameron for his answer, and left it at that. It was nothing like the sneaky and insincere “bait” questions which some fundamentalists and atheists have posted here for the sole purpose of launching into calumnies and attacks against the Church. And even if we do suspect a “baited” question, it does no harm, and could do a lot of good, to give a simple and honest answer, for the benefit of the questioner and other readers. It's not about who "gets the best of" whom, but about sharing the truths of our faith.
