trying to convert sdqa to christianity...

"first of all i don't believe in the concept of sin and therefore also not in jesus as the saviour of mankind and the son of god

everyone of us 'sins',but i don't think that that makes us evil,i don't think we were supposed to be perfect, everybody makes mistakes, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not,but i don't think that mistakes make someone bad unless you really choose that way through life and don't care about other people and just do everything what you want,no matter if it's harmfull to others or not

the christian beliefs are that we have to believe in jesus and keep his commands to be saved,so if there was no jesus, every one of us will burn in hell,no matter how good we were,we surely did at least something wrong in our life and for our inperfectness burn in hell, this makes no sense to me"-sdqa

i am trying to convert sdqa and we had many discussions about this and he always says something like this text above, could you give me some advice how that i could convert him?

Just keep telling the truth inLove, its his choice after that. demonstrat ethe Love of hrist and show the truth to him. This is all any of us can do.

Wel that and Pray.

Only the Holy Spirit can convert anyone. All we can do is just what Zarove said, speak and live the Truth in love. But "love" doesn't mean we water the truth down either.

sdqa should talk to someone who has spent years in recovery in a 12- step program, like AA or NA. We aren't just "imperfect", we are in bondage to sin and, without the Higher Power, we are sunk.

Perhaps sdqa isn't old enough to know himself and the depths to which evil can go in his life, and all of our lives. I will pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal the depth of sin and evil to him.

On the other hand, if sdqa is an incredibly loving person all the time and has no problem with sin or evil in his life, and is a paragon of virtue, feeling no bondage in his life--well, perhaps Christ has given him graces and help he doesn't realize! ;-)

Speaking as someone who lost faith and regained it 20+ years later, there is really nothing anyone can do or say. I could argue against faith and religion with authority and creativity. Used to love battling with "fundies." I will admit I had no major beef against the Catholic Church except some unfounded prejudices about its position during WWII.

Then thanks to no one in particular, no arguments, no "hitting bottom,"--- something in me started me back toward the Church. Can't really explain it or give an objective "enlightened" reason.

But "back in the day," you couldn't have said anything to change my mind. I still have many "issues" involving faith and belief that I continue to try to work out. But I instinctively feel I'm better now, than I was. I feel better about being back in the Catholic Church although I wish I had the strength of faith I see from many here.
