Thank you in advance for any feedback. My grandson is going to be baptized in the Episcopal Church on Holy Saturday. I find this strange and was under the impression that the Catholic Church does not baptize during Lent. Is the Episcopal Church so far removed from us in this regard?

Dear Mary,

Most likely your grandson is being baptized in the great Easter Vigil, which is when catechumens were often baptized in the early Church. So it's not really part of Lent--rather, it is the beginning of Easter.
