I am about to start teaching piano to adults. I have taught kids before who are beginners using a very simple 'tune for ten fingers' book with pictures and nursery rhyme type pieces. Can anyone suggest a basic book for Adult beginners?

I have taught adults and older teens using the Alfred Series of Adult books with much success. Good luck!

For my adult students I use the Faber and Faber Adult Piano method book with much success--much variety in the music, from classical, standards, folk, blues, jazz, etc. The theory is entertwined nicely. The accompanying CD is helpful too!
