I have read a lot of threads from individual who want to bet married in the Catholic Church, but do not practice Catholicism. Blessings to you who want to be married in the Church, but I want to ask (and I'm not trying to start a fight), WHY? This confuses me.

I read one posting that said she had no intention of coming back to the Catholic Church, but wanted to be married in one. Is this because of the pressure from your parents? If so, would that then not make the marriage invalid? If you have no intentions of following the Church, they why waist your time and energy? I mean, you would be just as legally married if you went to the JP or another denomination...Why Catholic?

What ever the answer, I do wish everyone a very blessed marriage and long life together.
