I wish I did.

I do have a Shinohara 3-way that I have been given to sacrifice. Sacrifice is the key word. The way the Shinohara is designed, I have to destroy one to fully work out the details.

One of these days I will do this. However, there are a few things I should point out that may be relevant.

1. There are lots of people that consider 3-ways to be troublesome. I have therefore decided not to use them myself. Note that this is other people's opinions that I have chosen to follow. I personnally do not know that 3-ways are truly troublesome. Bottom line: Get lots of opinions on this topic!

2. This is probably the most important one. I consider myself to be an exceptionally good solderer. I realize that even if I can do the delicate soldering that would be required on the Shinohara turnout, the effort required would be beyond that of the average modeler. I push the limit of what the average modeler can do. But modifying a Shinohara is definitely beyond what I would expect an average modeler can do.

So while I cannot specifically comment on the Peco, in general I would recommend that you not worry about trying to convert a 3-way. It's just another one of those model railroading compromises that a modeler has to make!

here's my experience.

I have a Peco code 75 Electrofrog 3-way and I use DCC. I have done nothing to convert it, I use it straight out of the box. I have had no trouble with it at all - no shorts, no derailments, nothing.
