Employee wants to return to work after non-work injurygreenspun.com : LUSENET : Law Of The Workplace : One Thread |
An employee is a passenger in a car accident. Employee spends a week in hospital with internal injuries. Employee is released from hospital to continue recouperation at home for several weeks. As an employer, what obligations do I have to the employee? What requirements of the employee should I have met to protect myself and my company?
I believe a release from the employee's physician is required. What else should required?
Also, Am I obligated to return the employee to the same work title and/or pay. Am I obligated to hold a job position for the employee at all?
